Happy Feeny Friday, you Feeny Fanatics! Today’s post is as simple as it is wonderful – the first Girl Meets World teaser trailer is here.
We are also getting more GMW cast photos, as well as confirmations that Feeny will be back for the pilot (premiering sometime this summer), Minkus will be back at some point, and the Matthews parents (now grandparents) and Shawn Hunter will be back for a holiday episode.
But on this Feeny Friday, I simply present the teaser trailer. My only comment: I’m hopeful. I’ve been concerned that Girl Meets World would match the cynicism of our age, sacrificing the schmaltzy, feel-good 90s sitcom feel we loved so much and miss even more.
The first scene from the trailer reveals that the show is attempting to keep the same tone from its predecessor, with the narrator even calling it a new family sitcom instead of yet another one devoted to tweens.
Optimism continues to rise. Enjoy!
You may have seen the buzz already. But I wouldn’t be the Feeny Fanatic you’ve come to love and depend on if I didn’t share this wonderful treat from the brilliant minds of Jimmy Fallon and Samuel L. Jackson.
While Fallon continues to exceed already-high expectations as the latest host of The Tonight Show, this idea may cement him as my favorite for a long while.
There is not anything I can do to prepare you for the glory of this video. I’ll let Fallon and Jackson’s love of Boy Meets World and Feeny speak for itself.
It’s been a while, Feeny Fanatics! When we last convened together on a Friday, we talked about Girl Meets World being picked up by The Disney Channel for a complete first season. While we’ve known Feeny would be back in some capacity and there has been some buzz about other returning favorites, all of it has remained pure speculation.
Until the last couple weeks! Twitter and Instagram has given us clues and shots from the show. We still wait for Girl Meets World to premiere and return us to that wonderful world of Cory Matthews and his ever-growing family… but our anticipation continues to build.
The last time we checked in on Feeny Friday, we had our first-ever special non-Friday version of Feeny Friday to announce the news that Mr. George Feeny would be returning to the new Disney Channel Boy Meets World spin-off, Girl Meets World. Now, we can gladly announce what we all knew would be true in our hearts all along…
News about Girl Meets World is coming in at such record pace that we can’t until Good Friday for the latest update. Not only is this because there’s so much quantity of news and pictures coming in from the set, but because of the utmost QUALITY OF THE NEWS WE HAVE TO SHARE WITH YOU TODAY!
Ever since the first Feeny Fridays where we recapped Feeny’s wisdom from the first season, our main focus in rewinding to our childhood (and our young adulthood watching reruns, if we’re honest) has been to glean life wisdom from George Feeny.
Since the new era of Feeny Friday has begun with our in-depth look at the production of Girl Meets World and campaign to bring back Feeny to give us more wisdom, we here at The Wise Guise have been staying up to date. And there are a number of things we’ve learned. As Adele might say, rumor has it that production has begun on the pilot episode of Girl Meets World. And, although the radar remains relatively silent on Feeny’s return, we have learned a lot. And there’s greater hope for Uncle Eric & Uncle Shawn to show up than ever before!
Without further ado, I present…
THE TOP EIGHT LATEST THINGS WE HAVE LEARNED ABOUT GIRL MEETS WORLD
Well, dear readers and Feeny Fanatics, I’m back. Feeny Fridays are back… but my new posts about the wisdom of George Feeny in the world of Mr. Matthews, Ms. Lawrence, and the rest of our favorites from TGIF have a new look and a new purpose! Since we last convened to analyze Mr. Feeny’s wisdom from season 1 of Boy Meets World, the world we know has changed forever. For the better. Nay. For the best.
