Movie Review: The Raid: Redemption

Overall: 7.5/10

Acting: 7.5/10

Directing: 8.5/10

Plot: 6/10

Recommendability: 8.5/10 (Guys) 6/10 (Girls)

Style: 8.5/10

Forget the plot. Those are words that I never say. I had a hard time even typing them to be honest so buckle up. But when it comes to The Raid: Redemption, forget the plot. Instead, sit back and take in the stylistically unbelievable action.

So if the plot is irrelevant, and it’s purely action driven, what’s the difference between The Raid: Redemption and say The Expendables? Style. Style, style, style. The Expendables is a cash cow of washed up actors looking for a paycheck. The Raid: Redemption is a Grindhouse-style ballet of action.

My review is that simple. I am not one for mindless action movies at all. I don’t have the attention span for them. But The Raid: Redemption is different because of the style and choreography of the action. It’s like The Matrix but without the plot and over-the-top CGI. Oh and it has a killer soundtrack. Check out the trailer below.
